So how does the cliche go? The calm before the storm. That is where we are right now as CBC gets ready to embark on another Mission trip to Browning, MT on the Blackfeet Indian Reservation. We have 8 great students poised to go on what has always been a life changing trip.
I think back on Joey Lupo's comments on how much more difficult the trip was than what he anticipated. Can you really make things difficult for the unflappable Joey Lupo? Well if you ask him then yes. As we prepare to leave this Friday, I think about all the things that still need to be done. There are so many details to a trip like this and this will be the most challenging yet. We have a 24 hour layover in Spokane due to a change in the train schedule which happened AFTER the reservations were made. I have lived a charmed life in terms of the arrangements in the past that I finally got snookered once.
We will hunker down on Saturday and buy our time till the train leaves that night. The one thing that could be different is that we may see Rain in Browning. That is something in the last two years we have not had. It has been very dry and I imagine the rain will make things a bit greener. The temperate will be about the same as we have seen, but a day there in the 50's is cold by comparison due to the wind.
Well until we meet again.
